1. AdWords: Google make billions of dollars every year from the AdWords-AdSense combo. Why is that? Because they work. Adwords is probably the most efficient method to generated raw traffic for your website. In order to get started you should create an account, add lots (by lots I mean hundreds if not thousands) of keywords that are related your site and set the maximum Pay-per-Click rate at $0.01. After that raise the rate by $0.01 every week or so until you start getting the desired amount of daily clicks.

2. Site-Specific AdWords: if you pay attention to the AdSense units you will see that most of them have a link titled “Advertise on this site”. This feature enables AdWords advertisers to create customized ads that will be displayed only on specific websites. Those ads work on a CPM (cost per 1000 impressions) rather than a CPC (cost per click) basis, but they can generate a good amount of very targeted traffic since you will be in control of where the ad will be displayed and of the message. You can get even better results if you use some creativity when designing the ads.

3. StumbleUpon Ads: StumbleUpon is a very innovative social bookmarking site that allows users to discover great websites by using a browser toolbar. When the user clicks on “Stumble” he will be delivered a website that people with similar interest rate positively. The user is also able to give positive and negative ratings to any website that he visits on the Internet. StumbleUpon also offers advertising campaigns, called StumbleUpon Ads, where you can deliver your website directly to those “Stumblers”

more to come…………

Windows 8 will bring along a series of enhancements that are meant at improving the identity protection that people benefit from eearly next year. Given the fact that we’re living in a connected world these days, the risks of identity theft are higher, and the next PC platform from the Redmond-based company is meant to ensure that users are better protected than before.

The software giant was focused on ensuring the users will benefit from a both ease and increased safety when it comes to the management of their digital identities. One of the main reasons for this was the large number of accounts that a user typically has (in the United States, the number rises to 25, on average). And since people tend to use the same password on more accounts (remembering a whole lot of passwords is not always a great solution), the risk of having one’s digital identity compromised when one account is hacked increases.

Users should consider improving both the security and the usability of their passwords, Ingalls explains. They should start with making sure their PCs are free of malware, which should keep them away from phishing and keylogging. They should also ensure they use strong, complex passwords for each account.

Windows 8 simplifies the task of managing unique and complex passwords in two important ways. The first is by providing a way to automatically store and retrieve multiple account names and passwords for all the websites and applications you use, and do so in a protected manner. “Internet Explorer 10 uses the credentials that we store to remember names and passwords for websites you visit (if you choose). In addition, anyone building a Metro style app can use a direct API to securely store and retrieve credentials for that app. The second security enhancement that Windows 8 comes is using of a Windows Live ID for signing into Windows 8. Windows enables you to set your password for each account to something that is both complex and unique; since Windows 8 will automatically submit the credential on your behalf, you’ll never need to remember it yourself,” Dustin Ingalls continues.

The world’s biggest mobile phone maker, Nokia, could start to use open-source Linux software on its more expensive phone models. Linux’s role in the handset industry is growing as Google has introduced its Linux-based Android platform, but Lappalainen said Nokia was likely to stick to its own Linux development.

Nokia uses Linux maemo software in its niche offering of Internet tablets, while it uses Symbian software for its phones. However VP Nokia thinks otherwise, “I don’t see anything in Android which would make it better than Linux maemo,” Lappalainen said.
We will have to wait and see in the future, whether Nokia really builds Linux based high-end phones, but its actually an indication that the balance is tilting in the direction of the Linux OS.
